When my eight year old TAL started throwing its 40A breaker, I replaced the 40A breaker. Problem solved. I'm not sure that even 40A breakers can handle the 30A for several hours each day of charging over many years. I think it just plain wore out. Oh, and I live in Huntington...

Just throwing out some thoughts on charging... I have a 97 lead-acid truck so I'm not familiar with the NiMH batteries. However, I did have to deal with some charging issues. Since the Panasonic's are not available, I installed 12V/75AH AGM batteries designed for UPS systems....

Thank you Paul and Ryan, I will definitely have to consider the medium and long term solutions very closely, and with the resources available from the list, I can be confident to come up with a solution that will work. At this juncture, I will continue to try to charge slowly...
