The part I'm referring to is a vertically mounted circuit board right in the middle of the case along the back wall. When I say the capacitors are fine I mean they are not blown apart like the ones Jeff Thomas posted pics of a few years back. I thought I remember the blue caps...

Most likely your stock capacitors are fine. Since your not running as high a voltage as a NiMH pack. Jeff became aware of the higher failure rate when converting the trucks from lead to NiMH. Most of his later upgrades included new capacitors. Don In a message dated 7/20/2011...
