[S10-EV] 120V Charger Testing Party Test Report

Stephen Weitz Thu, 7 Dec 2006 21:50:07 -0800 2006 Thread size 4
I have the opposite opinion, although no hard data. A slow charge using 120V would not heat up the batteries so the heat pump would not go on if the ambient temperatures are moderate (like much of the year in Oakland). This would be more efficient charging (albeit longer) beca...

[S10-EV] 120V Charger Testing Party Test Report

So, should we conclude from this that the 120V charger is useless on the NiMH S-10s? This confirms Jeff's opinion when I asked him about the old EV1 120V 1.2kWchargers. He said that these are useless because no or very little amps will reach the pack when the heat pump is runn...

Hi All, I'm considering selling my S10-E. It's a 1998 PbA with 38,000 miles on it. The truck is badly in need of a new battery pack, but otherwise is in great running condition. It's got no significant body damage, except some small dents and scratches inside the bed. I've dri...

Hello-- Many thanks to the dozen or so people who replied to my post yesterday to the various electric-vehicle groups, asking EV1 veterans to check a webpage at http://www.altfuels.org/misc/onlygm.html that I wrote as a rebuttal to GM's anti-EV1 spin in the wake of "Who Killed...

[S10-EV] California registration fees

Mike Kane Mon Sep 12 09:38:32 2005 2005 Thread size 6
Hi Casey, You are correct. There is a newer bill which was passed in 2003 to extend the sunset clause, so the bill is still in effect. The keyword here however is "new". The DMV, according to those I spoke with, does not consider this legislation applicable to the S-10 since t...

[S10-EV] California registration fees

Mike Kane Mon Sep 12 09:38:32 2005 2005 Thread size 6
Yes Tom, you are correct. The DMV will only extend the reduced registration fees for new vehicle sales from a dealer. Used vehicles from private parties will have registration fees based on the sales price (less depreciation over time). I've had a long discussion with the DMV...
