If anyone is planning to drive to the CARB hearings next week in your EV please reply to this e-mail with your approximate planned charge locations and times. I'll try to compose a quick matrix so that we can avoid too many cars vying for the same chargers at the same time. Th...

Jeff Thomas Tue, 15 May 2007 16:23:43 -0700 2007 Thread size 2
These are PbA (lead acid) vehicles. Not NiMH. Each had originally been delivered with Delco batteries, and then later updated to Panasonic EC-EV1260 VRLA PbA batteries between 1999-2000. The Panasonic PbA batteries have since been exhausted, or died from underlying vehicle pro...

[S10-EV] EV Pollution

Mike Kane Sun, 13 May 2007 20:59:35 -0700 (PDT) 2007 Thread size 4
Patrick, Good for you. The only flaw in you calculation is that you are including all of the upstream emissions for the EV, but only the actual tailpipe emissions for the ICE car. While the ICE tailpipe emissions are simple physics, the upstream emissions are more complicated....

Posting for Kevin Kayden.... From: Kevin Kayden I found this site: http://avt.inl.gov/pdf/fsev/eva/chvs10.pdf , which was copyright 1997 Electric Transportation Applications. They stated that the Nominal Capacity (C/2) was 48 Ah for the Delphi PbA batteries. I guess at some po...

[S10-EV] AmpHours

Okay so the horsepower debate is solved, so what is the official Amp hours of the batteries in the truck? I've heard some drivers report 75 Ah, EVBones says 85Ah, and my EV1 Dash program reports when fully charged a reading of 80Ah. What if any Ah difference is there using Lea...

[S10-EV] Torx Bit for Gen 2 LPI

Darell Mon, 7 May 2007 16:56:03 -0700 2007 Thread size 5
Marcos - You can definitely cut a slot deep enough where the amount of torque you can apply will be GREATER than what you could have applied with the proper security bit. In the meantime, you can put a drop of penetrating oil on the screws in question. Good luck! -= Darell =-...

Greg, Great tip - I'll try and let you know if it works. This LPI Gen 2 is a bit rusty - I hope I'll be able to generate enough torque to extract the screws. Marcos --- Greg Brewsaugh <[email removed]> wrote: > Find a Dremel or similar cut-off tool, cut a slot in > the screw h...

Find a Dremel or similar cut-off tool, cut a slot in the screw head and use a slotted screw driver. Worked for me with a Gen 2+ SPI. No worries. (Schooled by Darell.) Greg Brewsaugh On 5/7/07, Marcos Peixoto <[email removed]> wrote: > > I have a need to borrow a 5-tip security...

[S10-EV] S-10EV Horsepower?

Joshua Tomel Mon, 07 May 2007 16:41:13 -0400 2007 Thread size 4
Pat, I'm not sure myself but if some of the trucks have the 100kW motor and some don't there could be some reasons for it. It could either be that the truck went through EVBones, and got a horsepower upgrade or it could be the differences in the two model years the truck was i...

Hi, Anyone know the horsepower of the S10EV? This DoE study lists it as 114HP: http://www.evbones.com/s10Report2.pdf While the EV Bones homepage says 137HP: http://www.evbones.com To solve this, I thought I would look at the kWatt power rating and convert it (kWatts x 1.34 = H...
