Where does the SOC gage get its information? My gage seems to have a mind of its own. I can go 23 mile until the first big line, then 11 more, 34 total miles to the second big line, then it picks up speed fast. So I was wondering what information the gage works off of to deter...

Well, the mileage retrieval doesn't seem to work on my 1998 S10E. I'd love to find out that's a problem unique to my truck. Does anyone have it working on their S10E of any year? -jim On Tue, Feb 08, 2005 at 12:20:35AM -0800, Tom Dowling wrote: > I think the mileage retrieval...

I think the mileage retrieval situation may be different between the 1997 S10E and the 1998 S10E -- but I'm not sure about that. I vaguely recall that the mileage did work on EV1 Dash on my 1998 S10E when I had it, but my recollection could be faulty. I believe that the 1998 S...

Tom, I have done a considerable amount of tire testing in the last year, and the winner is the Goodyear Assurance 215/78 R15 These are the closest facsimile to the discontinued original Uniroyal Tiger Paw High Efficiency LRR tires, and permit 44psi max inflation. They are also...

Jim, you're right about the NiMH charging. I'll elaborate on the problems with these chargers, and their usefulness. The convenience charger; as EV1 drivers knew, were included with first generation vehicles as a means of adding a few amps to the pack when a 120VAC 20AMP outle...

Well said, Don. 300+ volts, maintenance free batteries, and an AC direct drive means performance and range. You can have all of these with a GM S10. EV Bones has several very young S10s, some with NiMH batteries that could yield better than 70 or 80 miles range. These trucks s...
