[S10-EV] Fwd: batt life warning

Paul Peavyhouse Thu, 1 Nov 2007 15:21:46 -0700 2007 Thread size 7
As far as I know, charging the battery to full does not reduce the service life of the batteries. I don't think that is what Don was talking about. I think Don was referring to the fact that if you charge your pack to full and then let it set for a few hours then it will have...

[S10-EV] Batt Life

Jeff Thomas Wed, 31 Oct 2007 06:49:12 -0700 2007 Thread size 3
Batt Life will light for a few different reasons, though the most common is triggered through too aggressive of driving style for the given state of charge. A timer is started within the BPCM on the first low volt event (usually acceleration), and accumulates until the volume...

[S10-EV] plugin rather than inductive charging

Stephen Weitz Mon, 22 Oct 2007 21:36:23 -0700 2007 Thread size 5
I have found early morning charging (cool temps.) and only charging to 3/4 capacity will keep the A/C from going on. You might be able to use conductive charging and not worry about temperature issues if you follows these rules. However, you still have the "state of charge" in...

[S10-EV] service manual

Gil posted an answer to this question back in July. http://helminc.com had (may still have) the '98 service manual (GMET98ST) but not the '97. On 10/22/07, Burtis Dickman <[email removed]> wrote: > > I'm interested in finding a service manual for a 97 S10-EV. Can anyone > help...

[S10-EV] More S-10EV's coming up for auction

The following comes from the EVDL (Electric Vehicle Discussion List). I've never dealt with such title issues but it sounds like an important detail to research before bidding -- see below. It has also been noted that one truck has confused records that make it a gasoline carg...

Gil, I'm going in for replacement not conversion, and I wasn't really keen on bringing it up here on the list, but since you brought it up here, and let the cat out of the bag, I might as well talk about it. As most of you know and those that don't can look through the archive...

As I mentioned a few days back on the S-10 list serve, a few 1997 S-10EV trucks are being released by the Government. A total of three this month are coming out of Marietta GA. http://cgi.govliquidation.com/auction/view?id=1398404 http://cgi.govliquidation.com/auction/view?id=...

[S10-EV] plugin rather than inductive charging

Gentlemen, the S-10EV utilizes a sealed battery box with active refrigeration for pack cooling. Whereas the Rav utilizes passive cooling only. During charge, the S-10EV pack temperature is limited to 87 degrees F in order to maximize charge energy, efficiency, and battery cycl...

[S10-EV] Outside Mirrors

Niel Nielsen Thu, 04 Oct 2007 16:01:48 -0500 2007 Thread size 1
I was carrying a box past my '98 S10ev, and bumped the driver's side mirror and broke it off. From looking at the broken parts, it was ready to go, and the bump with the box finished it off. I've noticed that the outside mirrors on this vehicle "whistle" when the vehicle is at...

[S10-EV] Build in a Charger?

Gil Dawson Thu, 27 Sep 2007 22:40:42 -0700 2007 Thread size 2
Pat-- There is a smaller/lighter charger, the large paddle GenII+, but the cable to the paddle is of a tuned length that won't quite reach from the charge port to the truck bed, so there's no place to put it. Mounting the charger on top of the engine hood would meet the caqble...

[S10-EV] Build in a Charger?

Is there a charger that is available today that is smaller/lighter than the wall/floor mounted magna-charger that could be built in to a 1998 S10EV NiMH? Regards, Pat -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... URL: <http://five.pairlist.net/mail...

[S10-EV] S-10 EV power accessories

Hi Chris, the S-10EV was a fleet vehicle, and so it was stripped of features. The Maroni (window sticker) noted even the most basic stuff as "features", and all were shipped in the same basic configuration, except for batteries (PbA or NiMH). The PbA was $35k, and NiMH was $45...
