[S10-EV] AC issues

Michael MacDonell Mon, 12 Apr 2010 17:17:16 -0700 (PDT) 2010 Thread size 1
Gil, No it wasn't the heat switch. I came across a? (yours?) post concerning that in the archives. I did finally get both trucks cooling, perhaps it was a sticking valve or maybe it had something to do with swapping the battery pack air flow sensor from 1 truck to the other. 1...

[S10-EV] A/C issues

Michael MacDonell Sat, 10 Apr 2010 20:25:54 -0700 (PDT) 2010 Thread size 5
What could cause the A/C not to function on 2 different 1997 Nimh trucks? I can get the heat pump to produce heat but get nothing when trying for cooling. I have monitored the process with a tech 2 and it does show that I am calling for A/C. I waited about 10 minutes but never...

[S10-EV] Available 1998 S10E for sale

Upgeya Pew Tue, 30 Mar 2010 14:15:32 -0700 2010 Thread size 1
Hi, everybody. My 1998 S10E has stopped accepting a charge (the charger reports E2), and will not move on its own power. Instruments all light up, and report "service now" and "battery life". I'm not sure why, but I was recently sick for 2 weeks while the truck sat idle, so my...

[S10-EV] Replacing the fuel fired heater from underneath the truck.

McMullin, Kevin Mon, 11 Jan 2010 10:36:58 -0500 2010 Thread size 12
Lynn, Thank you very much! Knowing that you don't own your S10E anymore, and that you're still here to help, says a lot about you. I am fortunate to have a large, well lighted, heated, 2 car garage, and an Air / Hydraulic bumper lift that will raise my truck 24" off the floor....

[S10-EV] Replacing the fuel fired heater from underneath the truck.

Adams, Lynn Mon, 11 Jan 2010 08:04:58 -0700 2010 Thread size 12
Kevin and all, I think the GM manual starts by saying "pull the motor" which is the hard way. The easy way is to approach it from underneath the truck (a pit would be ideal, but I have done it with the truck sitting on the ground- raising the truck even 2 inches helps a lot)....

[S10-EV] Fuel Fired Heater Questions

Alex Beamer Thu, 31 Dec 2009 07:16:42 -0800 2009 Thread size 11
Hi Kevin, What you describe sounds very similar to what I am experiencing. My heater seems to do all the functions correctly, it will start to make heat but then it stops. A year ago, I was having a similar situation. At one point I commanded it to run with the Tech 2 and it s...

[S10-EV] Fuel Fired Heater Questions

McMullin, Kevin Thu, 31 Dec 2009 09:22:33 -0500 2009 Thread size 11
Happy New Year!!! I had the Tech 2 on it last night on a 15 mile trip. The heater will fire up when commanded by the scanner, and it fires up when you first turn it on. It just won't continue to run. I've read everything I could find in the archives and thought my Ambient Temp...

[S10-EV] E2 Error

rayan ghazal Wed, 16 Dec 2009 08:39:55 -0800 2009 Thread size 3
Hello Niel, First, apologies for not getting back earlier. When I get busy at work, I am not near a computer. The temps when it happened where probably in the 40's. This summer we were having charging issues in warmer temps but that was only with our charger at home e-5. Bill...

[S10-EV] S10-EV E-2 Error, Service Now

rayan ghazal Sun, 13 Dec 2009 21:24:32 -0800 2009 Thread size 1
Hello Niel, The truck is a 1998 native NiMH, from EVBones. Previous to the "service now,e-2" incident a few days ago I always heard the fan when plugging in for a charge. Although it could be an intermittent or recent problem, I will double check it tomorrow morning. Do you kn...

[S10-EV] Heat Pump not heating

Steve: Use of scantool was second question I asked in previous reply. I haven't tried to use it on this problem yet. It's a maze of menues and without guidance, I've never found my way to anything I could understand. - - Phil, from Palm Treo 755p using Palm Mail ---- Original...

[S10-EV] Heat Pump not heating

Can't say that I understand them but I have a friend at a local Chevrolet dealer who has offered to let me use them (2000 pages as I recall he told me). Have you any insights on the problem or the use of the ScanTool for this issue? - - Phil, from Palm Treo 755p using Palm Mai...

[S10-EV] Heat Pump not heating

Philip Morgan Thu, 12 Nov 2009 15:35:45 +0000 2009 Thread size 19
Ryan: I'd expect it to do that but how would it limit heating at 45? F when batteries should be quite cool? The cooling fan operates fine and should be keeping the batteries cool? I've heard of the HVAC control taking the A/C cooling away on hot days (>90?F) but I hadn't heard...

[S10-EV] Heat Pump not heating

Patrick: Interesting idea. I have only used that lower righthand button when temps are below 40?F. The heat used to pour our very well at 45?-50? F but doesn't do so anymore. - - Phil, from Palm Treo 755p using Palm Mail ---- Original Message ---- From: "[email removed]" <[ema...

The truck hvac controller also prioritizes battery temperature and health over driver comfort. I had my truck in South Dakota for a few years and the exercise runs I would do with it in the dead of winter we not fun. Ryan On Nov 12, 2009, at 7:11 AM, Philip Morgan wrote: > Tha...

[S10-EV] Heat Pump not heating

Phil Morgan Wed, 11 Nov 2009 22:07:50 -0500 2009 Thread size 19
My '98 S-10EV has a heat pump and it doesn't seem to provide any heat. The blower puts out air in accordance to fan speed setting and there's noise suggesting the heat pump system is engaged and running. A month ago, last time I operated the A/C, it seemed to provide cooling ....
