Dave, the test cycle is aborted when vehicle is in run mode. The common method is to place a 10k resistor in series with the front temp sensor -tricking the HTCM into running the FFH when ambient temps are in the 50's. Jeff __________________________________ Sent from my hacke...

In Stephen's case, the failure mode did not result in leakage current that would typically have resulted in propulsion system shutdown (service now+wait). The hybrid module reliability service work relates only to the heat pump compressor and PSM, not the buck mode supply used...

Jeff, If Stephen can get by with using a 12 volt deep cycle battery in place of a failed DC/DC converter, would an off the shelf unit (like might be used for an EV conversion) also be a reasonable replacement for the expensive OEM part from GM? Or is there an integration issue...

Stephen, That's good information on how to get by without the DC-DC converter. I wasn't aware that there was any way to do without it. It certainly isn't as convenient as just shoving in the charge paddle, but I understand the cost issue of the repair. As I understand it, the...

I think that the comparison isn't necessarily fair because you're comparing the big module with who knows what else included. The Cobasys NiMH batts were bare cells packaged efficiently. If you compare the bare Toshiba cells to the Cobasys cells, the specific energy is not wor...
