[S10-EV] Fan Buffer / Regen

Niel Nielsen Sat, 30 Aug 2008 19:03:04 -0500 2008 Thread size 3
Dennis, Yeah, with 4100 pounds of vehicle weight and the tires inflated to 50 psi, the thing seems to coast quite well. I agree. Someone posted something a couple of years ago about the increase in range of the vehicle with the half-tonneau cover installed. As I remember, it w...

For the info of all on the S10-EV list members, My no regeneration issue was caused by a malfunctioning fan buffer on the front fan. I purchased a fan motor P/N 22136897 AC Delco # 15-8562 for $91 and change from chevrolet and a much improved fan buffer from Jeff. Please note...

Hi Pat, ? I was researching similar problem - I needed a 200V 30A, while all around me was 220V 10A?or 16A. What I found was that it is potentially very dangerous to create direct?electrical connections between the sockets if you do not know the phase (the degrees)?and the sou...

Tom, Yes, PGE in Portland is installing the charging stations. Here is some press about it: PGE opens stations around Portland for plug-in hybrids<http://www.oregonlive.com/environment/index.ssf/2008/07/pge_opens_stations_around_port.html> The Oregonian - OregonLive.com - Port...

[S10-EV] 220V Step-up

You would need to find two 30A 120V receptacles, one on each side of the line. The S10E requires 208-240V at 30A (which technically calls for a 40A circuit). The standard 120V receptacles that your utility will be installing will be 20A at best, so they are not going to be use...

My local utility is installing Plug-in vehicle charging stations. This is pretty cool, but other than one site that was 'grandfathered', they are not going to have 220/240V available on them. I am trying to figure out if I could find some way to utilize these charging stations...

[S10-EV] legal question on recalls

IF a manufacturer were to issue a mandatory recall and you did not comply then I suspect you would have no defense and perhaps be personally responsible if something destructive happened with the product. Just my opinion. Pv On 8/16/08, Steve Hawkins <[email removed]> wrote: >...

Good perspective. This is interesting as dozens of ICE vehicles burn to the ground in the US every week. I might enjoy taking them to court if they tried that for two defined fires out of hundreds of thousands of charging events. Its shame they have so much money to spend on t...

Jeff, would you be willing to outline the specific evidence you have that supports your hypothesis that these fires were caused by "metal fatigue developing in the tree and branch plate interconnect structure can result in broken internal parallel connections, reducing the cel...

[S10-EV] legal question on recalls

Richard Poudrier Fri, 15 Aug 2008 13:23:33 -0400 2008 Thread size 7
Unsafe products are recalled all of the time. Presumably GM would have to give us fair market value for the vehicles, but just exactly what that amount is could be tied up in courts for years. If the manufacturer were to declare these vehicles unsafe and not offer a remedy our...

They probably wouldn't confiscate it, but they may not let you re-register it and you would probably be held directly responsible for any damage to public/private property that may result from any problem. Pv On Fri, Aug 15, 2008 at 9:23 AM, Steve Hawkins <[email removed]>wrot...

The Seattle S10 was a native NIMH. It really doesn't matter much because the condition of most of these truck's batteries before Jeff gets to them is probably pretty bad, so he would probably recondition them all the same way, swapping out batteries as appropriate. I don't thi...

I'm not surprised to learn that the charger was not a TAL charger. In my opinion (I'm not claiming to be an expert here), the TAL charger operates in exactly the same way as the Gen 2+ charger. It does not have the display capabilities of the Gen 2/2+. However, like the Gen 2/...
