[S10-EV] Large-paddle public chargers

With new standard charging stations soon to be available, large-paddle public charger installations are logical targets for replacement with the new conductive standard charging station. Only S10Es can use these large-paddle charging stations. If there are any large-paddle pub...

[S10-EV] Batteries for Sale -reprogramming tools

To go with Jeff's battery pack, you can buy my truck (98 NiHM) for $5K. Except for one battery (that needs to be replaced), the truck runs fine. I commuted in it for about 3-4 years. It has 30K+ miles on it. I'm selling it because my commute changed from 30 miles round-trip to...

[S10-EV] Batteries for Sale -reprogramming tools

Mirror to all on the list; All trucks that are NiMH, whether they were original, or converted later, can be reprogrammed for PbA battery operation. To reprogram the truck it does require the GM Tech2 scan tool as well as the GM TIS application. Due to health issues, I have don...

[S10-EV] new batteries

The BPCM tracks the SOC (State Of Charge) through the shunt during charging and discharging. Your vehicle has a nice charging system. Why not use it? Jeff On Aug 27, 2009, at 4:35 AM, McMullin, Kevin wrote: > I'm replacing the batteries in my truck with a Deka AGM 80AH. They >...

[S10-EV] new batteries

Well, the information you were told is somewhat misleading. The 2A VRLA end of charge leveling is never intended to exceed 14.75v There are instances where extreme imbalance can result in one or more modules exceeding 15v before termination. I have some experience with this, a...

[S10-EV] new batteries

I'm replacing the batteries in my truck with a Deka AGM 80AH. They cannot accept the charging profile of the BPCM and Paddle charger so I'm going to charge with a Zivan charger built for these batteries. (I'll take the plus and minus leads off of the hot side of the contactors...

[S10-EV] Battery Box Blower Motor Connection looks a little cooked. Perhaps a short?

12v replaced only a couple of months ago. I spoke to Jeff and he doesn't think anything I did with the new wiring is the problem. i.e. something new is broken. The "new" thing is the APCM which is apparently $4000 wholesale, $6000 retail and impossible to get anyway. That kind...

So the battery back fan connector died again, melted slightly, the same as before (in May.) The replacement part is an AC Delco PT779 3 cavity Female Pigtail and the part can be sourced from a local parts place ($30+?) or online (which was about $24 but slower.) The fan still...

[S10-EV] Question about blower fan wiring

Gil Dawson Sun, 16 Aug 2009 17:32:10 -0700 2009 Thread size 6
Jeff & Paul-- When we had what sounds like the same problem, Eric Luebben and I traced it to a burned connector in the circuit supplying constant 12V power to the battery box fan. Eric had replaced the fan, but the new one still did not turn. We pulled the plug and measured th...

I have the Atlanta chapter S10E pickup. The traction batteries are dead as shown on the dash. When I plug in the charger it reads E1 after an extended period of time. Do regular mechanic shops have the scan tool necessary to read S10E codes. Where do I start? Please call or wr...

Well, if the fan is bad, and it results in an unintended indicating device that makes for an easy diagnosis, It's actually a good thing. So, for all you other S-10EV's out there: You're driving along happy as a clam, and then the contactors unexpectedly open (no power, service...
