If they could be obtained that inexpensively, you can be sure that insiders and mechanics will snap up any good vehicles and simply throw in new i.c.e. motors for resale, but the gov. tracks the titles on each 'clunker', so it would be hard to title it...at least that is my op...

Thanks Dennis, The batteries I ordered ARE for the Silverado Hybrid. It is the only new battery that will drop in. And GM is the only source for new batteries. I wouldn't know where to start to find someone "parting out new trucks". I know some have gone from dealer to dealer...
