Working with an electric Ranger owner in San Diego, I have obtained a couple of quotations for the development of a generator regulator that would access it's feedback from an EV battery pack of 120 to 312 volts. I have been advised by individuals at AC Propulsion that the mos...

Actually, the NiMH EV1 has 26 batteries, just like the PbA. The nominal voltage of the NiMH EV1 is 343 volts, whereas the PbA car is nominally 312 volts. The NiMh Ovonic battery does have 11 cells, 13.2 volts nominal, but it is the same size as the 12.0 v Panasonic PbA battery...

MessageYes, you're probably right. They're tired. I'll confirm the price from my local dealer and write again. I have confirmed that the Rav4 Nimh Panasonic is the same size as the Panasonic Pba. The Ovonic battery has one additional cell and is longer, hence the EV1 NiMH only...

Eric, All of my batteries seem to be in the same shape. They all have the same (low) voltage, as indicated on the GM PDT. They all sag together on acceleration. I've done test drives with the tech sitting in the passenger seat reading the PDT. There are no specific batteries o...

MessageThank you Tom, I'm in Irvine California. At 20 miles, you probably have 1 or 2 batteries that are causing all the trouble. I have been quoted $200 each over the counter at my local Saturn dealer. I think that since the Chevrolet dealers are no longer supporting the S10...

Congratulations Tom, Let me know how you make out on range. I'm wondering if I need to get my pack checked. Mine's also a 98 with pba's. (May have come from the same source, since the last service records originated in Florida) I can get over 40mi if I keep my speed below 60 o...

Hello! Anybody out there? My S10E is on the road, and has been for a couple of weeks. It's a 1998 factory S10E, originally a Gulf Power truck, shipped to Sacramento from Pensacola, FL. It has only 3,200 miles on it. It was not driven or charged for the last year or so. Scott a...

If you're EV is *really hooked up* (with an ACP drive system), a diagnostic discharge test is as simple as plugging the Tzero into and outlet and telling its charger to make your electric meter *spin backwards*. /wk At 09:40 AM 9/14/02 -0700, Tom Dowling wrote: >The Chevrolet...

The Chevrolet S10E service dealer in Sacramento has a resistor bank that is about the size of a small desk, with wheels, specifically for discharge testing and cycling of S10E battery packs while installed in the truck. It discharges at 25 Amps -- about 8kW. It would make a gr...

New Low Price. I love my S-10E Electric Pick-up, but having 3 year old twins makes it impossible for me to drive the girls anywhere, without taking my wife's car, which has been more difficult, due to increasing activities with the girls. So now that the RAV4-EV are available,...
