A further comment on large-paddle inductive charger (LPI) deployment.... While redeploying LPIs to serve the specific needs (at home and work) of the very few S10E and other vehicle owners who can use them makes some sense, it doesn't make sense to mount a major effort to depl...

Francis, What year is this S10 electric? Is it a factory-built truck, or a conversion? From what you say, it seems likely that this is not a factory-built S10E, but some type of conversion. How many batteries do you have altogether, both old and new? It sounds like you may hav...

Hi Francis, Probably Jeff Thomas (www.evbones.com) would be the best one to answer this, but I'll give it a stab. I am assuming you have the lead acid batteries. I had an S-10 with NiMH batteries which had several failures over the 14 months I was leasing the truck. I made 3 t...

Gentlemen, the NiMH charge profile is a real stickler for keeping batteries in balance, and will set non-catastrophic DTC's if the differential exceeds .5v between the highest and lowest battery at either beginning or end of charge. And will display the check vehicle error. GM...

Jim, I somehow missed this post a couple days back. What you are experiencing is most likely either a failure of the Battery Pack cooling fan, or a corroded Pack Airflow Thermistor (mass airflow sensor) used to measure volume. Towing would not have initiated this problem. Eith...

Hi Tom, Good guess (I imagine it has something to do with uneven battery voltage). I'll offer my speculation on what the SOC gage represents. Since the S-10 shares much in common with the EV1, my guess is that the SOC gage corresponds with the bar graph that the EV1 has to sho...
