[S10-EV] Shudder upon startup

List member Sat, 06 Dec 2008 12:34:45 -0700 2008 Thread size 2
> Lately my S-10E has a shuddering when it first begins to move from a > dead stop. Ken, this is a classic indicator of an IGBT failure in the PIM. Look for DTC's in the DMCM relating to phase out of range errors. There is a very remote chance of the encoder being bad. I've ne...

[S10-EV] Living with our batteries..

Thomas Sadowski Wed, 15 Oct 2008 23:48:50 -0400 2008 Thread size 1
Hey there folks, I got around to pulling the pack out of my 98 PbA this last July. The most difficult part of the extraction was finding a shop with equipment large enough to handle the pack's weight. I ended up performing the operation at a local tractor repair facility. Awes...

[S10-EV] Fan Buffer / Regen

Niel Nielsen Sat, 30 Aug 2008 19:03:04 -0500 2008 Thread size 3
Dennis, Yeah, with 4100 pounds of vehicle weight and the tires inflated to 50 psi, the thing seems to coast quite well. I agree. Someone posted something a couple of years ago about the increase in range of the vehicle with the half-tonneau cover installed. As I remember, it w...

[S10-EV] No Regeneration

Niel Nielsen Wed, 30 Jul 2008 21:41:04 -0500 2008 Thread size 2
Dennis, I have a hunch that the regen gets disabled if the batteries are sensed at an elevated temperature. I saw the regen get disabled in my vehicle during most of an afternoon, and I know that the batteries were hot. To me, it would make sense that the vehicle would disable...

[S10-EV] Power Steering failure

List member Wed, 30 Jul 2008 18:04:35 GMT 2008 Thread size 1
Jeff, thanks so much for the reply. I have one further question: is this module available from ANY Chevy dealer or just one which is still servicing the S10e. If the latter, I don't know of one in SoCal. If the former, it will be a great relief although I assume that the cost...

[S10-EV] Dead Power Steering

Jeff Thomas Wed, 30 Jul 2008 05:19:09 -0700 2008 Thread size 2
Gar, it appears the PSM module has passed on. Fortunately the failure mode did not result in a high voltage leakage path that would shut the vehicle down completely. The PSM is beneath the PIM and will need to be pulled for service. Your chevy dealer will have the module avail...

[S10-EV] Dead Power Steering

I guess I need a little help here. Today I booted the truck as usual, drove the couple of blocks to a neighbor whom I was picking up so she could do a couple errands. So far, so good. I pulled into her driveway, turned the truck off so I could go to the door to escort her back...

[S10-EV] No Regeneration

I just wanted to post my findings on the problem I had with no regen. for general info. I have had no codes and the truck had regen operable a few weeks ago. The regen quit functioning and I still had a clean slate on all modules as far as DTC's went. last week my truck called...

[S10-EV] Wheel Information

Thomas Sadowski Sun, 20 Jul 2008 10:06:40 -0500 2008 Thread size 2
Yes, Our Electric S-10's use the 4X4 offset and bolt pattern for it's wheels. 4X4 S-10 Blazer, Jimmy, and Z2R wheels are certainly a nice upgrade and will fit like our stock steel wheels. 2WD wheels have the wrong offset. For the sake of saving any and all electrons, I recomme...
