[S10-EV] DTC 287

McMullin, Kevin Thu, 11 Nov 2010 09:44:39 -0500 2010 Thread size 19
Thanks Jeff, Yes, you could drive away with paddle inserted. However if I turn the key on, with paddle inserted, I immediately get a "Service Soon" light and the 287 code. Since I have never been into the charge receptacle, I figured an external micro switch would be easier. I...

[S10-EV] DTC 287

Jeff Thomas Thu, 11 Nov 2010 07:14:48 -0700 2010 Thread size 19
Kevin, I need to add that your reed switch has failed to the degree that the embedded magnets in the charger paddle do not activate it while the paddle is installed. This presents a safety issue whereas you could inadvertently drive away from the charger with the paddle still...

Hello Isaac Welcome to the S-10 list. I changed the subject line to reflect the content of the post. A thousand miles that is extremely low miles. Usually a truck will have at least 4 or 5 thousand miles before no longer functioning. I have found with low mile dead EVs there w...

Good morning everyone, I just wanted to introduce myself and say hello. I am buying a 97 S10 EV on Friday and thought I would join this list. Perhaps a bit premature since the truck is not in my hands yet, but to say the least, I am very excited about my discovery. Out of curi...

Hi Scott & All, I have a 98 S-10EV with NiMH batteries that are at the end of their usable life. I am looking for recommendations on replacements. Regarding the 287 code, I have found a work around that seems to get me back up when my pack has been discharged too far. Go to th...

[S10-EV] battery pack fan problem

Jeff Thomas Tue, 19 Oct 2010 13:21:42 -0700 2010 Thread size 5

[S10-EV] battery pack fan problem

John Miller Mon, 18 Oct 2010 17:00:52 -0600 2010 Thread size 5
Thanks Gil, The red and black wires to the fan now run *directly* between the fan and the battery - the power wiring through the 25-pin connectors is now bypassed. The control wire is still using its original wiring. I have added a pair of wires (one fused) connected directly...
