[S10-EV] questions about EV S10

Noah Podolefsky Thu, 18 Nov 2010 08:29:54 -0700 2010 Thread size 13
Appears to be 21.45 Ah. The full spec sheet can be found here: http://www.shop.emcbattery.com/media/WKA12-33C.pdf Unfortunately, this sheet shows that the full height is actually 7.02" with the connectors...so may not work after all. -Noah On 11/18/2010 7:29 AM, [email removed...

[S10-EV] Battery questions

Noah Podolefsky Thu, 18 Nov 2010 07:39:06 -0700 2010 Thread size 2
Thanks everyone for your help with batteries. Kevin Kayden had some advice for us, and I just wanted to get some clarification. We were considering a bank of 52 batteries, 26 sets of 2 in parallel. Could someone explain why parallel sets of PbA batteries are a bad idea? We hav...

[S10-EV] DTC 287

Richard, I would not want to guess at which wire would interrupt the charge. I only cut the paddle present, (Dark Green), wire in my harness to test it. There is a ground, (Black), and a power, (Red or Orange), in that plug. The power wire may do it. I don't have the books her...

Thanks Jeff, Yes, you could drive away with paddle inserted. However if I turn the key on, with paddle inserted, I immediately get a "Service Soon" light and the 287 code. Since I have never been into the charge receptacle, I figured an external micro switch would be easier. I...

Kevin, I need to add that your reed switch has failed to the degree that the embedded magnets in the charger paddle do not activate it while the paddle is installed. This presents a safety issue whereas you could inadvertently drive away from the charger with the paddle still...

I thought I posted this last night but I guess it didn't make it. Richard, Doesn't look like you can use the paddle present wire to interrupt a charge. Jeff pointed me in the right direction with the magnet in the paddle info. I located the magnet in the paddle, and determined...

Kevin, I don't know if any have replied directly to this question. There is a reed switch embedded in a sealed section in the roof (underside ceiling) of the paddle receptacle that responds to your insertion of the paddle into the charge port by initiating the async communicat...

Hello Isaac Welcome to the S-10 list. I changed the subject line to reflect the content of the post. A thousand miles that is extremely low miles. Usually a truck will have at least 4 or 5 thousand miles before no longer functioning. I have found with low mile dead EVs there w...

Good morning everyone, I just wanted to introduce myself and say hello. I am buying a 97 S10 EV on Friday and thought I would join this list. Perhaps a bit premature since the truck is not in my hands yet, but to say the least, I am very excited about my discovery. Out of curi...
