Kevin , I'm not sure if you've read in the archives but there has been a lot of discussion about the limitations of the 120 volt convenience charger . There were only designed to charge lead acid EV1's and S10's , they won't work on a NiMh vehicle because of the lack of power...

To anyone following this thread. Keeping the batteries above 50 degrees is not only going to provide you more range you will vastly extend the life of your batteries. 60 degrees would be even better. Since this is a problem for only part of the year I have been using the Tech...

Alex-- You probably know this, but you didn't mention it, so... There are three wires into the battery pack fan housing. One is 12V power, one is ground. The third is a TTL-level PWM control signal from some computer, which turns the fan on and off rapidly to control its speed...

Kevin and all, I think the GM manual starts by saying "pull the motor" which is the hard way. The easy way is to approach it from underneath the truck (a pit would be ideal, but I have done it with the truck sitting on the ground- raising the truck even 2 inches helps a lot)....
