[S10-EV] Fuel Fired Heater Questions

McMullin, Kevin Mon, 28 Dec 2009 14:38:48 -0500 2009 Thread size 11
I'm a new owner too, however, I would guess you have a problem in your fill pipe. I have actually never filled mine at a gas station. I filled a 5 gallon Diesel container and use that to fill at my home. I converted the bed of the truck to tilt and had to re-locate the fill pi...

I reinstalled the battery pack today after 3.5 months of carefully rehabilitating the batteries. The truck started up with out any DTC's and was ready to go. The charger on the the other hand was not, I had tested it a month ago and it charged the pack without an issue, this e...

[S10-EV] My turn! :) Truck only charges to 81% then E2 on charger and Service Now/DTC on truck

Paul Peavyhouse Wed, 16 Dec 2009 21:09:25 -0800 2009 Thread size 3
I've reset the SOC two more times, and now all 4 times the truck soon stops charging w/ E2. The Tech2 has the following two BPCM DTCs: - 0064 Battery 8 Excessive Voltage Change - 0274 Auto Disconnect Open Battery Control Module Commanded The charge aborting at 81% was a false...

Hello Niel, First, apologies for not getting back earlier. When I get busy at work, I am not near a computer. The temps when it happened where probably in the 40's. This summer we were having charging issues in warmer temps but that was only with our charger at home e-5. Bill...

[S10-EV] S10-EV E-2 Error, Service Now

rayan ghazal Sun, 13 Dec 2009 21:24:32 -0800 2009 Thread size 1
Hello Niel, The truck is a 1998 native NiMH, from EVBones. Previous to the "service now,e-2" incident a few days ago I always heard the fan when plugging in for a charge. Although it could be an intermittent or recent problem, I will double check it tomorrow morning. Do you kn...

[S10-EV] My turn! :) Truck only charges to 81% then E2 on charger and Service Now/DTC on truck

I've had my S10EV for goin' on 3 years now and am relatively familiar w/ its peculiarities, either from direct experience or vicariously from this mailing list. Recently my truck stopped charging to full and the charger E2s and the Service Now light comes on. It stopped at 81%...

[S10-EV] Cogging

It only happens when I'm starting out. Its a little like a clutch vehicle when the clutch is not let out properly, a slight bucking. I don't have any warning lights but I guess I should get it checked with a scan tool. Stephen On Dec 7, 2009, at 6:11 PM, Ryan Dela wrote: > Sou...

[S10-EV] pre-nup

Ryan Dela Sun, 6 Dec 2009 16:25:46 -0800 2009 Thread size 2
The pre-nup is a good idea. I figure since I bought my truck in 2004 I have spent more time under the hood or in the battery pack than behind the wheel. Most of that time was when it was a lead acid truck before it was converted to nimh. This is not to say that you will have t...

Hi Michael, My daughter advises that you sign a pre-nuptual agreement quick! I have a S-10 with NiMH and I let my batteries run down by not leaving them on a charger when I went on vacation for 3 weeks. It took me a long time to figure out what was wrong, but successfully brou...

[S10-EV] Clearing DTCs

Richard Hatfield Fri, 04 Dec 2009 17:36:35 +0000 2009 Thread size 1
My S10 has accumulated 16 DTCs in the history. Most of them are for low battery voltage I tried to clear the DTCs yesterday to see which DTCs would reappear with the Tech2, but I was unable to clear them. Any suggestions? Richard Hatfield -------------- next part -------------...

[S10-EV] Heat Pump not heating

Adams, Lynn Thu, 19 Nov 2009 09:14:38 -0700 2009 Thread size 19
Yes, if the thermostat is below 40, the heat pump will not come on and the diesel heater is engaged. You can play with it a little by placing a resistor in series or parallel with the thermistor located behind the front grill to either allow the heat pump to work (very ineffec...

[S10-EV] Heat Pump not heating

IIRC, The 40?F thermostat causes the kerosene heater to light up, if it can. Do you suppose that it also prevents the heat pump from operating? On Nov 16, 2009, at 6:01 A, Philip Morgan wrote: > Steve: > > I never doubted it. I probably didn't realize that the button was > nec...

Steve: I never doubted it. I probably didn't realize that the button was necessary for heat above 40?F but my testing was done below 40?F and the button was on (light was lit). Just to clarify, I operated the heat over the past weekend when temp was 55?F and heat poured out so...

Steve: Use of scantool was second question I asked in previous reply. I haven't tried to use it on this problem yet. It's a maze of menues and without guidance, I've never found my way to anything I could understand. - - Phil, from Palm Treo 755p using Palm Mail ---- Original...
